The Ministry of Communication
& Information Technology, Government of India had taken up the CIC project
to cover 446 blocks of North-East Region. Out of 446 blocks 219 blocks
ware earmarked for the State of Assam & for that purpose the CIC project
were launched at Borjhar, (Guwahati) Assam on last 17th August'2002. which
was inaugurated by the Sri Promod Mahajan, Hon'ble Minister of
Communication & Information Technology, Government of India for the
benifit of local people of concerned blocks.
